TonStage

Active

Multi-track player for live musicians

Overview

TonStage is a complete platform for musicians and bands that perform with backing tracks. Instead of relying on a single stereo mix you can't touch, every song arrives as separate instrument stems — drums, bass, guitar, keys, vocals, click, and guide — that you mix live from a native player. That player comes paired with the operational side of running a band: a shared catalog, setlists, a rehearsal and event calendar, and role-based team management, all in one place.

At the core is a professional multitrack player for Windows and macOS. Every stem has independent volume, pan, mute, and solo control in real time, so on-stage problems — a click bleeding into the PA, a guide vocal that should reach only the in-ears, a bass that's too loud — get fixed on the spot. Multi-channel routing sends each instrument to a different physical output, feeding in-ear monitors, stage wedges, and front-of-house from the same song.

Around the player sits a web platform with a catalog of more than 5,000 professional tracks organized by artist, key, and BPM, plus tools to build setlists, transpose songs, adjust tempo, and coordinate the whole team. Access is defined by role — admin, music director, musician — and content is delivered by secure streaming rather than handed out as downloadable files. New teams can start on a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.

The problem

Musicians who perform with backing tracks are usually stuck with a single stereo file they can't adjust. If the bass is too loud, the click bleeds into the room, or the guide vocal needs to stay in the in-ears, there's nothing to do about it mid-song — the mix is whatever was handed over. On top of that, the work around the music — building setlists, scheduling rehearsals, sharing tracks, and keeping the team aligned — tends to be scattered across files and loose conversations. TonStage brings mix control and team organization together in a single system.
